All day charters include boat and guide (8hrs per day). Water, soft drinks, fishing tackle and bait are provided onboard. Professional vacuum sealing and freezing of catch is not included in the price for day charters.

Quarter Deck Inn - HotelAll packages include boat and guide (8hrs per day). Water, soft drinks, fishing tackle and bait are provided onboard. Meals include a Boxed lunch. Professional packaging and freezing of catch at Hardy Buoys is also included. Shipping of catch, Fishing Licence, Dinners and Gratuities, are not included. 2 persons per boat is recommended for fly fishing. All Prices per person based on double and triple occupancy. Policies

Deposits: Tides and Tales Sport Fishing Adventures requires a 50% deposit at the time of booking on the total cost of your fishing package. Deposits can be made by cheque or Visa over the phone. The remainder of your trip is due 30 days prior to the start of your fishing trip. Tides and Tales Adventure Charters accepts: Visa and/or Cash.

Refunds: If you need to make changes to your vacation plans, Tides and Tales Sport Fishing Adventures will refund the full amount of your deposit if written notice of your cancellation is received at least 30 days before the start of your trip. Refunds will not be issued for unused days or part days that were booked as part of your fishing package.

Unless specified, food, and catch processing is not included as part of our packages. Most clients order boxed lunches from the hotel front desk, and water and soft drinks are provided free of charge on the boats. The majority of our guests who choose to retain fish, have their catch professionally cut and packaged for travel by a local processor.

2/16/2010 Vancouver Island Salmon and Halibut Fishing - Port Hardy BC - Feb- 2010 2010 - Winter Olympic Games www.tidesandtales.com The Winter Chinook (King) Salmon fishery is in full swing, and there appears to be a few fish around! With the Herring spawn just around the corner, we are finding the salmon near the concentrations of herring. The cut plug seems to be the most productive tackle. We are seeing Winter King salmon (Chinook) consistently in the 8 - 12 lb range on every charter, with the odd specimen in the low 20‘s! Lets hope this is an indicator of what we will see this summer! The Halibut season opened on Feb 1, and already we are seeing a few at the cleaning table. Halibut fishing has been very solid, with fish in the 25 - 75 pound range being caught. The halibut have had a sweet tooth for octopus, but are now starting to develop a taste for Herring as we get closer to the spawn. Being voracious feeders, halibut will eat just about anything, but they do have their favourites! We had an incredible fall fishery for Halibut. Mike guided to 76 individual Hali’s in October alone! Lots of catch and release! This has to have been the best fall Halibut fishing we have seen! Red Snapper and Lingcod fishing has also been very consistent, although we have to catch and release Lingcod for a couple more months.
